A WIRELESS TRIUMPH BROADCAST OF LAUNCHING (British Official Wireless) (Received 28th September, noon) RUGBY, 27th September. The broadcasting of the ceremony yesterday of the launching of the Queen Mary at Clydebank was most successful. Reports from many parts of the world state that distant listeners were presented with a picture of the proceedings scarcely less graphic than that witnessed by many of those who attended the function. So intimate was the wireless triumph that even whispered instructions given in reply to Her Majesty’s enquiry as to the button she was to press to release the great vessel were distinctly heard on the other side of the world.
