Describing the stoppage of work at Lysaght’s factory at Newcastle as a breach of an undertaking by employees that work would continue uninterruptedly, Mr Justice Cantor, of the Industrial Commission, to-day rescinded the award which is applicable to the ironworkers’ section at Lysaght’s. Counsel for Lysaght’s stated that the strike meant that huge consignments of galvanised iron would have to be brought from England to enable Lksaght’s to kep faith with their customers; owing to exceptionally heavy demands on the local mills.
