RAINBOW THE DEFENDER (United Press Association —By Electrit Telegraph-Uopyright) NEWPORT (Rhode Island), 31st August. Harold Vanderbilt’s Rainbow was chosen to-night as the defender for the America’s Cup against Endeavour. Rainbow’s selection was announced by, the New York Yacht Club and came after she had scored her third successive victory over Yankee by a slight margin of one second. Rainbow is financed by a group of millionaires. She is equipped with a metal mast, bending boom, and all sorts of mechanical devices.
