CHARGE AGAINST DOMESTIC
ALLEGED ASSAULT WITH GARDEN FORK (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. In the Magistrate’s Court a charge of assaulting Seth Snoswell so as to cause actual bodily harm was preferred against Edith First, aged 58 years, a domestic, who was remanded to 11th September on a bail of £SO, and one surety of £SO. Displayed in court was a garden fork which the police alleged was the weapon used by accused. Complainant is now in hospital for treatment, his nose having been broken in the affray. Counsel said he understood that the charge might be reduced. The police said further inquiries would be made.
