IS STATION 2ZR TO CLOSE DOWN?
(To the Editor) Sir, —As notified in the advertising columns of this issue the 2ZR Radio Club is holding its annual meeting in the Council Chambers at 7 p.m. to-morrow (Wednesday) night. At 8 p.m. a special meeting of citizens will be held, when all those interested in the future activities of 2ZR are requested to attend. n It rests with this meeting to say whether 2ZR, “The Voice of Sunny Nelson,’’ it to continue to provide Nelson listeners with an adequate coverage and static free programmes, or whether it is to close down.
In the past the club lias battled hard for justice, and I would make an earnest appeal to all who are interested in tho advancement of Nelson and the future activities of 2ZR to attend this meeting. In doing so they are helping themselves and assisting their club in its fight. An opportunity will bo taken of reviewing the relations at present existing between 2ZR and the Broadcasting authorities, so that listeners will be well informed as to the position. Council Chambers tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.—l am, etc., lAN K. MACKAY. ■ Hon. Secretary. Nelson, Ist May.
