DELETION OF A RULE WELLINGTON, This Day. At the annual meeting of 'the. New Zealand Rugby Union it was announced by Mr S. S. Dean that in response to an unofficial inquiry from England the management committee had indicated that ,it was willing to agree to a suggestion to delete Rule 15L, regarding the hooking of tlie ball. Rule 15L leads: “No player in a scrummage shall raise a foot off the ground, or advance either foot- beyond the line of feet of his front row forwards until tlie' ball is fairly in the scrummage; and the first three feet of the. front row" forwards of each team on .the side on which the ball is being put in, shall not bo raised or advanced until the ball has passed.” The'action of the management commute was approved.
