BYRD EXPEDITION
CAMP FLAYED BY BLIZZARD ALL WORK SUSPENDED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LITTLE AMERICA, 17th April. In his daily radio communication, Admiral Byrd from the advance base reports temperatures at between 50 and 60 degrees below zero, which are on an average 30 degrees less than here due to the. absence of the moderating effect of the Ross Sea. Ho also exchanged meteorological reports with William Haines, senior meteorologist, here. Yesterday a blizzard flayed the camp, halting all’work. The skv was sodden with a thick, packed stratus of clouds, through which the sun was only vaguely visible. To-day the men worked at digging out the 450 pound drums of petrol at the east barrier cache just norLli of Cape Naliue. They are still removing supplies from the food caches and bringing seal carcases 'o camp for the dogs.
