VISIT OF H.M.S. DUNEDIN

ARRIVAL ON SATURDAY H.M.S. Dunedin, flagship of the New Zealand naval division will arrive at the outer anchorage from New Plymouth tomorrow afternoon, and will berth at the wharf on Saturday morning. The visit is being paid in the course of the ship’s annual cruise round New Zealand ports, a number of which have been visited since she left the Devonport naval base in February. The Dunedin is commanded by RearAdmiral F. Burgess-Watson, D. 5.0., Commander-in-Chief of the New Zealand naval division, who recently returned to New Zealand from a conference of admirals of Pacific stations at Singapore. There are, in addition to the officers, more than 800 potty officers and men in the complement. A programme for the entertainment of the visitors is being drawn up. On Saturday afternoon a soccer match will he played on Victory Square against a Nelson team. On Saturday night the ship's concert troupe will give a concert in the Theatre Royal. The Dunedin will be open to the public on various afternoons during the time in port.
