WELL-EQUIPPED PLANTS BUILDING OF WARSHIPS (United Preßs ABsociation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 10th April. Mr Hector Bywater, the “Daily Telegraph”’ naval correspondent, in the “Telegraph” emphasises the fact that three German firms tendered for the construction of the Brazilian cruisers, destroyers and submarines. Though the tenders were disallowed on the ground that their building was contrary to the Versailles Treaty, it was proof that Germany was now in a, position (o build all types of warships. The German Patent Office in recent years bad granted hundreds of patents dealing with naval construction. The of all applications concerning war material were secret. The Krupp factories at Essen possessed machinery capable of producing naval guns of the largest calibre.
