BIG RIVER The report of Big River Gold Mines, Ltd for the month of March states The output from the two stopes worked in No. 3 level was 98 tons of stone. The reef has varied in width from a few inches to 3ft, and at the moment is 2ft and Ift 6in. The No. 3 east crosscut was commenced during the month and lias been extended a distance of 26ft 6ins. A reef may be met with at any time, conditions being very favourable. The No. 4 level crosscut rwas driven 48ft j Several quartz stringers have crossed the face during the last few feet of driving. Allowing a one-in-thiee dip east 57ft of further driving should cut No. 3 south drive reef. Some prospecting lias been done on a leader sins wide located in No. 1 level. The stone appears to be good milling, gold being seen at every breaking. How this will develop is yet to be proved.
