NEW IYA STUDIO
TENDERS FOR BUILDING [Bv Telegraph—Press Association] AUCKLAND, 22nd December. The construction of the new IYA broadcasting studio to be erected , v at., the top of Shortland street is expected to he commenced early next year. Tenders have been called and will close on 15th January. The building, which will be of reinforced brick with concrete floors, will be of two storeys in front, but advantage will be taken of the sloping site to have four storeys at the rear. The entire' absence of windows in the 1 top storey, which will be the studio floor, will make the building an architectural novelty in Auckland. This is necessary for the exclusion of extraneous noise from the studios.
