A pleasant little function took place at the Nelson Police Station yesterday when members of tlie force made a presentation to Mr li. Fitzsimmons, who until iris recent retirement on account of ill-health was tlie constable stationed at Wakefield. Tribute was paid to ex-Constable Fitzsimmons in connection with his official duties and reference was made to his general goodfollowship. The presentation took tlie form of a case of pipes and a tobacco pouch.
