HOLIDAY TRAVELLING
HEAVY SOUTHERN BOOKINGS [Bv Telegraph—Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Exceptionally heavy railway travelling, even for the holiday period, is reported at South Island stations.. An official stated this morning that men who liad been with the department from before the-war cannot remember heavier bookings than, at Christchurch this Christmas. The Wahine this morning brought a full complement from Wellington. She takes 800 north to-night, and the Rangatira takes 900 north to-morrow. All are booked already.
