WRESTLING
AL PEREIRA V. RUMBERG NEXT THURSDAY EVENING The Nelson Wrestling Association will stage their third professional contest of the season with a bout between Al. Pereira and Hal Rumberg on Thursday evening next This contest should easily prove to be the most spectacular under the auspices of the local association, and a full house should be assured.
Al. Pereira is a noted flying tackle expert. His knowledge of mat-work is also superior to the majority of wrestlers, lie having taken George Walker over the full eight rounds in each of their five contests. No other wrestler to visit New Zealand has this great record, which certainly proves Pereira’s capabilities. Hal Rumberg, who made a very good impression on his first appearance in Nelson, will be Pereira’s opponent, and ns Rumberg is still unbeaten in this country, he naturally will endeavour to keep his record intact. Both men are evenly matched as regards height and weight, and a great contest should result when they meet in tlie ring on Thursday evening. As both men are extremely clever matmen, there should be hard, fast, spectacular and scientific wrestling, with no traces of so-called showmanship.
Four special amateur preliminaries have been arranged, and since Koolman’s visit of instruction these bouts are quite a feature of the programme. Reduced prices are still in force, including ladies who are admitted anywhere for 2s lOd. The public are advised that on no account will these contests be broadcast. Plan is now open at Flick's Tobacconist; after 5.30 p.m. at R. Thomas’s, ’phone 596.
