SURPRISING MYSTERY
SEAMEN WHO RETIRE
(United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 19th August, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, 18th August, The “Lancet” reveals a surprising mystery of the sea—622 out of every 1000 seamen die within a year of retirement to shore, and over half die within three months. The principal causes of deaths are pneumonia and tuberculosis.
