At the annual meeting of the Nelson Provincial Progress League yesterday afternoon Mr F. I. Ledger, the president, made reference to the death of Mrs Gould, mother of Mr A. Gould, a member of the League. A vote of sympathy was passed, members standing as a mark of respect. Mr P. Best, of Applebv has recovered from his recent illness and was present at yesterday’s annual meeting of the Nelson Progress League. Mr Best wished his name to be deleted from the executive but members would not hear of it. It was pointed out that Air Best had been on tliq executive since the inauguration of the league. Air Best considered he was getting too old to continue his services but the chairman, Mr F. I. Ledger assured him that his name should remain on the executive if only for the kindly interest he took in the affairs of the body.
