CHALLENGE AND CHEER MISSION

There was a good attendance at the Inspirational Rally in connection with the Challenge and Cheer Mission to be. held at St. John’s Methodist Church commencing to-morrow. The missioners, Messrs Goodman and Tozer, were welcomed by the Rev. W. A. Burley, and also by Miss A. Knight l and Mr L. G. White, on behalf of the 1 young people. Messrs Goodman and Tozer gave short, . challenging and inspiring addresses, in , which they pointed out that the ultimate success of the mission lay not in the ef- ■ forts of two missioners, but in the whole-hearted support of all concerned. Final arrangements and preparations were made for the mission, which will commence on Sunday and continue throughout the week. The speakers outlined their programme. Meetings of challenge and cheer will be held every night of next week, and the venture will conclude on the evening of Sunday, 27th. The hearty co-operation of all was invited, it being pointed out that the enterprise had a wider end in view than any narrow sectarian interest. All would be welcome. The need for cheer was great in these days, and the services would be both of a challenging and of a cheering nature.
