FOX CHEATS TRAP
FORELEG GNAWED OFF FALLS VICTIM TO GUN Tlio career has ended, near Moree, New South Wales, of a fox that had wrought considerable damage among sheep in the Bellata district —a fox that, when his prowling led him into a trap, gnawed off his left foreleg and escaped. For a long time the fox had given great worry to graziers. He killed 40 stud ewes belonging to one man by biting out their tongues. On a recent morning a kangaroo shooter, named Bert Ilann, brought in to 1 Moree a fox, whose left foreleg was gnawed off at the shoulder. Fie had the l fox placed in preserving fluid. Mr Hann at once started inquiring for the name of the grazier or group of graziers said to have offered £llO reward for the destruction of the fox.
