SALES TAX EXEMPTIONS
SURPRISE TO COALITION ' MEMBERS (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, This Day. The third caucus of the Coalition ■Party to be held within a month will take place to-morrow. Members will, it is understood, be given an opportunity of expressing their opinions on the list of exemptions from the sales tax. It is believed 'that at the previous caucus no indication of the nature of the exemptions was given, and the list placed before the House last Wednesday night came as a surprise to members. It is expected the caucus will also have before it a proposal by the Government that 'there should be a further impost on bachelors’ income.
