TWO WORTHY CAUSES
REGIMENTAL BAND AND 2ZR The campaign inaugurated 10 days ago to raise funds to enable the 12th Regimental Band to attend tile Dunedin contest, and to assist to retain 2ZR on the air, will virtually conclude on Wednesday the 15th inst. with a demonstration at Trafalgar Park. The 12th Regimental won the quickstep last year and it is desired that they should defend their title this year! An excellent programme has been arranged which together with a treasure hunt at approximately 9 p.m. should assure the public of an excellent entertainment for the modest sum of one shilling. The prize in the treasure hunt is a free return trip to Christchurch (donated by .Messrs Newman Bros.). The Regimental Band will give the final ceremonial rehearsal of the contest quickstep as well as the three test pieces. The campaign virtually closes on Wednedav next, but as 9000 sixpences are still required subscription lists will remain open until Saturday, 18th February, so as to fit in with the drawing of the combined “raffle” which has been extended until that date. The Nelson Silver Band will play the Regimental Band to the Park.
