QUEEN CARNIVAL
KEEN COMPETITION BETWEEN THE WARDS The people residing in each of the wards have now fully grasped the idea of supporting their queens, and consequently each day the keenness to see their flag at the top of the pole . has increased. To date three of the four wards have had at least one turn at the top and the positions daily have been as follows Saturday: 9 o clock to midday Port and Tahuna; mid-day, Waimea. Monday: Wood. Tuesday and Wednesday: Waimea. Thursday: Wood. Friday: Wood. . A big ward boundary map is displayed in Begg and Co.’s window to make the boundaries clear, and all cases are judged by the area in which one resides independent of the situation of businesses, etc.
