NELSON STATIONMASTER
LEAVING FOR HIGHER POSITION PROGRESS LEAGUE’S CONGRATULATIONS At the Nelson Progress League meeting yesterday afternoon Mr H., Hornblow, acting stationmaster in charge at Nelson, was present concerning a matter of the transportation of timber by rail. After the subject had been dealt with, the Mayor (Mr W. J. Moffatt) stated that Mr Hornblow was leaving Nelson shortly, and he understood that he was being promoted. He was sure the League would tender Mr Hornblow sincere congratulations on his elevation to a higher position. He had done all that he possibly could do for the Nelson railway and the Nelson people appreciated his work for the district. Mr Moffatt moved and it was carried with acclamation that Mr Hornblow be thanked for his interest in the Nelson railway. Mr P. Best supported the mover’s remarks. The chairman also remarked oil the very friendly relations that had always existed between Mr Hornblow and tlie League. He had always been most informative and helpful.
Mr Hornblow in reply hoped that eventually Nelson would have its railway right through to the Coast, and he would fight to that, end to the best of his ability in his new position.
