ADDRESS BY REV. WILSON CASH Addressing the members of the Nelson Rotary Club at their weekK luncheon to-day, tho Rev. W. Wilson Cash. D. 5.0., 0.8. E., organising secretary, of tlie Church Missionary Society, gave a conciso review of Mohammedanism. Ho detailed its spread by tho sword from 623 A.D., when the Prophet lay dying nt Medina, and showed how its spread through Europo was checked at Vienna in the 17th century. The isolation that Islam attempted to impose upon Europo was thwarted to discoveries of new lands and the opening up of trade routes. Islam then turned in upon itself and itself became isolated. (Coming.down to modern times, tho speaker, pointed.out how tho whole Moslem world has been altered from whafc it was in pre-war days, political and social changes of far-reaching importance having taken place throughout it. Rotarian Easterfiold in moving a vote of thanks to tho speaker, spoke of tho very instructive address given and expressed the wish that history had been taught in such an interesting manner. President S. A. Gibbs was in the chair.
