NO POWER TO CHECK IMPORTATION STATEMENT BY MR SCULLIN (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 20tli June, 8.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Prime Minister in a statement concerning the Russian timber shipment said that the Government had no power to cheek Russian imports. There was a heavy Customs tariff on all foreign timbers, ami the Government had no moans ot ascertaining whether the consignment was produced by forced labour, hut inquiries were being continued.
