STATEMENT BY MUSSOLINI
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 19th June, 8.30 a.m.) s PARIS, 18th June. “Le Journal’s” special Rome correspondent interviewed Signor Mussolini and asked what was the exact point of friction between the Church and the State. Signor Mussolini replied: “At the head of the Catholic Actionists are failures and disgruntled members of the old Popular Party who have a grudge against us over the .orientation of their policy. The Vatican has been put on its guard against:the peril of this extreme policy, which may- awaken anticlericalism, the dormant existence of which in the Vatican is well known."
