WRECK OF THE PROGRESS
REMOVAL OF CARGO (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, 2nd May. A large number of men. women and children picking up jiortable cargo from the scene of the wreck of the Progress lmd a rude shock this morning, when on the way back they came face to face with a constable, who politely' requested them tt) load the various articles they' carried into a waiting lorry. It is reported that several men sampling the contents of a cask also had a shock when a constable'came up and stove it in.
The marine inquiry will open next week.
