SHOCKING ACCIDENT

MAN CAUGHT IN WINCH TERRIBLE INJURIES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WHAKATANE, This Day. A shocking accident occurred aboard the trawler Manurere, of Tauranga. While hauling in,a net off Ohiwa, Albert Edward Hassall, engineer, married, with three children, was caught in the winch. His right arm was pulled off and the other was broken. Both legs were broken and his chest was badly crushed. The trawler called at Whakatane and the injured man was taken off in a launch and conveyed to Whakatane Hospital, where he died.
