The trouble which started several days ago over the preferential employment of several non-unionists at the Glenafcon Collieries, and which has led to the cessation of work in that mine and the adjoining MacDonald Mines, is not settled yet. A conference on Friday between coalminers’ representatives and the directorate of the Glenafton and MacDonald Collieries proved abortive. At a mass meeting of the Glenafton Miners” Union to-day it was decided not to resume Work.
