FARMERS’ OBJECTION TO AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND PRODUCTS (United Press Association—By Electric Teloffraph—Copyright) (Received 20th February, 1.15 p.m.) VICTORIA (8.C.), 19th February. The Advisory Board of the British Columbia Farmers’ Institute in representations to the Agriculture Committee of the Provincial Legislature today claimed that importations from Australia and New Zealand were demoralising conditions in the dairy, sheep and allied industries of the province, and asked in view of reported negotiations between the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand Governments that the attention of the Canadian Minister of Trade and Commerce should be drawn to the existing conditions with a view to his taking steps to prevent further demoralisation. MARKET CONTROL ACT QUASHED (Received 20th February, 1.15 p.m.) VICTORIA (8.C.), 10th February. Agricultural interests are aroused by the quashing of the Market Control Act by the Supreme Court of Canada and are calling a conference to consider the formation of an agricultural political party.
