CHILDREN'S MUSIC
What kind of music should a child hear first? This question has been instinctively answered by mothers through countless ages—the lullaby. And . yet, with modern methods of child upbringing the lullaby has grown almost obsolete.' ■■ Nearly all of the great masters have lavished some of their most inspired writing 1 on this very tender art of expression. To name only a few there are : "Cradle Song" (Brahms), "Silent Night" (druber), "Hush, My Ba-by" (EousseauJ, "Lullaby" (Mozart), "Sweet and Low.' (Barn-by), "The Sandman" (Brahms). These and scores of others may be had to-day on gramophone records. No home should be without some of these fascinating children's melodies.
