OBITUARY
MARGARET HOWITT, AUTHORESS LINK WITH EARLY NEW ZEALAND(United Press Association—Bv Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Bth April. The - death has occurred of Miss Margaret Ilowitt, aged 90 years, authoress, and sister of the pioneer, Alfred Ilowitt, who discovered the remains of the Australian explorers Burke, Wills and Charlton. Ilowitt was drowned while participating in an expedition to Lake Brunner, New Zealand.
MR SIDNEY H. GOLDSMID
LONDON, 9th April. The death is announced of Mr Sidney Hoffnung Goldsniid. Death was due to a heart seizure when leaving St, Janies Club, where he had dined. He fell into the arms of a friend and died.
Sidney Hoffnung Goldsniid was born in 1863. He served under the British Rod Cross Society in France, 1914-17; was Assistant Administrator, Ministry of Munitions, 1917-18; was secretary to the Advisory Council on Artificial Limbs; and was connected with the Ministry of Pensions, 1918-19.
