SYDNEY, 9th April. Detectives are confronted with tho difficult task of finding tho bandits who hold up tho Mudgeo train, and escaped with over £4OOO in notes and silver, representing portion of the railwayman's pay-
Car and cart wheel tracks were discovered near tho scone to-day. They led into the bush where a wire fence was cut, apparently by somebody anxious to avoid detection.
Tho police in Penrith district came upon two moil camped on the bank of the Nepean river. Both wero arrested, one for having an unlicensed revolver, and the other being charged with vagrancy. Both were remanded. A telegram has been received from Binnaway, beyond Mudgeo, 200 miles from the scene of the train hold-up, stating that a railway cash box identical with the one stolen has been found on tho-side of tho road, and is being sent back to Sydney. It was possible for the bandits to cover this distance by car between the time of the robbery and the hour at which the cash box was found. NO CLUES (Received 10 th, April, 1930 9. 25a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. An all-day search by detectives in the vicinity of the Mudgee train robbery failed to reveal a single clue. The tracks .'discovered (yesterday had no connection with the bandits and the amazing getaway of tho thieves is puzzling the police. The stolen bag had cash to the value of about £IB,OOO, £13,000 of which was in cheques which were cancelled. .
