OLD OFFENDER SENTENCED (By Telegraph—Press Association) HAMILTON, This Day. Sentence of two years’ imprisonment with hard labour was imposed oil Frederick Rushing, aged 36- years, when he appeared in the Hamilton Supreme Court on a charge of issuing a valueless cheque for £7. It was stated that accused had a long list of previous convictions. Dir Justice Smith remarked that accused had been living a life of crime since 1914. As far back as 1917 there were convictions against him. If he was again convicted lie would be declared an habitual criminal.
