"SOCIETY" COURT CASE
HOSPITAL BALL TICKETS

LONDON, 24th March. Society is interonted in a peculiar court case. Lady Edward Spencer Churchill is suing'Countess'Mayo, one of her best friends, for four guineas for two tickets for a hospital ball last June. The action was undefended and an order was made for payment within 14 days. "I did it as a 'varning," said Lady Spencer Churchill. "This sort of thing is still going on in the neighbourhood." Countess Mayo said: "Lady Spencer Churchill and mys-lf are great friends The money relates to two tickets I sold for a ball. Payment was overlooked through sheer carelessness and pressure of public duties."
