RECALL OF OFFICIAL
REASON FOR ACTION (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) CANBERRA, 23th March. The Minister of Markets, Mr Maloney, to-day explained why Mr liaynes, who was Australian commercial representative in Canada, was recalled and subsequentlv resigned. The Minister said Mr S. McKay, of tho Sunshine Harvester Works, decried Australia in Canada and helped to damage Australia's credit and good name abroad. It was expected, Mr Maloney added, that Mr Haynes would have protected Australia against such damaging statements made by Mr McKay, but he associated himself with Mr McKay's remarks and repeated them at a public function in Canada. ADELAIDE, This Day. Mr S. V. McKay, commenting on Mr Haynoss' resignation and the Minister's statement concerning it, says that it will shock tho public to learn that the only reason for Mr Hayness' recall was that he honestly slated the facts abiul Australia's present industrial difficulties.
