BRITISH COAL INDUSTRY
OWNERS AND MINERS CONFER (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 27th March. A conference was held to-day between representatives of the miners and coalowners to discuss the question of the miners' working hours, which is now the subject of legislation, with a view to reaching an amicable agreement. It was afterwards slated that certain proposals had been made which would be placed before tho miners' executive. Officials of the Miners' Federation left London this evening for tho International Coal Conference at Geneva. As they will be absent a week, the meeting 'of the miners' executive will probably be I held the week after next.
