UNLUCKY CIRCUS
TWO DISASTERS IN SHORT PERIOD (United Presß Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 24th March, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, 23rd March. Canio's circus at Birmingham, which recently suffered serious damage owing to the collapse of a tent through weight of snow on it, was the scene of another disaster. The seating of the new tent was destroyed by hie. The cages of eight lions were'ignited, and the animals, terrified, rubbed their noses against heated iron bars. The trainer entered and pacified them and put ointment on the burns.
An attendant was crushed while re moving elephants .
