A middle-aged man w.s charged in the Police Court with atempting suicide, fie was remanded i>r seven days and his name was supprssed. The police stated that he firstattempted to gash himself, then thrw himself in the harbour, whence he 'as rescued by a Harbour Board emplyec and sent to hospital.
