THE LATE MR W. MOYES
LARGE ATTENDANCE AT
FUNERAL
The widespread esteem in which the late Mr William Moves was held was exhibited by the very large attendance at his funeral this morning. Over thirty motor cars were in the procession, and a largo number of floral tributes were received. The chief mourner was his son, Mr W. H. Moyes, Principal of New Plymouth High School. The burial service was conducted by the Ven. Archdeacon Dart, while the Masonic service was read by Wor. Bro. E. 11. Thomson (Victory "Lodge), and Bro. A. Gould (Nelson Lodge); and the Oddfellows' service by Bro. M. L. Anderson, District Grand Master. The pallbearers were: Messis A. Gould (Lodge Nelson), N. Rout (Victorv Chapter). E.j H. Thomson (Victory Lodge), G. Man-t son (president of the Nelson Bowling Club), J. E. Clear (Oddfellows), and G. Shrimpton, an old friend of the deceased. Among those present were representatives of all classes of the community, including the Mayor (Mr W. J. Moffatt). Rt. Worshipful Bro. R. Furness represented the Marlborough side of the Marl-borough-Nelson district of Freemasons.
In addition to many private wreaths, others were sent from the following:— Staff of New Plymouth Boys' High School; Victory Royal Arch Chapter of New Zealand; Lodge Nelson; Governors of New Plymouth Boys' High School; Victory Lodge, Nelson; trustees of Nelson district Lodge of Oddfellows; Nelson Bowling Club; Howard Lodge of Oudfellows; and Partitutu Chapter (New Plymouth). Including in the private wreaths were those from Mr and Mrs T. List; and Mr and Mrs W. Weston, of New Plymouth.
