FRENCH NAVY
LAUNCHINGS THIS MONTH PARIS, 10th April. New warships totalling 30,000 tons are being launched from French shipyards in April. They include a 10,000 ton cruiser of the Tourville type, which will be named “Foch” and be equipped with an aeroplane catapult, and two 1560 ton ocean-going submarines of the Redoubtable type, o'f which France now has 24 either commissioned or building. They carry ten torpedo tubes, one fourinch and one smaller gun, and have 18 knots surface speed and 10 knots submerged. They carry a crew of four officers and 57 men.
