ELECTRIC LIGHT CHARGES

Sir —lt mav be of interest to the Nelson public'to know that the charge for lighting in Christchurch is as follows—Minimum charge 5 units at 6d per unit, and thereafter Id per unit and no meter rent. I bought current at these nrices for nearly four years and can assure you the figures quoted arc correct. Some while back several thousand pounds sterling was transferred from the municipal electricity department to another municipal account. This represented part of the profit of the M.E.D.
