PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT
COMMENCED TO-DAY
Tiio Nelson Provincial Golf Tournament, arranged by the Neison Club, commenced on the Taliunanui links today. There are about GO competitors, including 30 or 40 representatives of ahon! 12 outside clulis: Tim recent rains have done the links a lot of Rood, and the turf lias never looked better for (his time of the year.
To-day the qualifying rounds for the championship, together with a stroke handicap is being played, the first competitors teeing up shortly after 8 a.m. When "The Mail" went to press the games were unfinished.
The tournament will be continued on Mondav and concluded on Tuesday.
