NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION DEFEATED t (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association) (Received 13th February, 10.5 a.m.) CAPETOWN, 11th February. The no-confidence motion was defeated in the early hours of the morning by 18 votes. General Smuts vigorously repudiated a ministerial manifesto attributing to him advocacy of a native State and bidding farewell to South Africa as a white man’s country.
