OUTBREAK IN EDINBURGH CLEARING HOUSE DESTROYED United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Australian Press Association) LONDON, Bth January. One of the biggest fires in Edinburgh in recent years destroyed the Bankers’ Clearing House, which is on the north side of Saint Andrew’s Square, overlooking the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and several large insurance companies. Fortunately tho absence of wind enabled other buildings to he saved, though the Clearing House was gutted.
