SPEEDING DOCTORS

MAGISTRATE'S WARNING (By Telegraph—Special to "The Mail") CHRISTCHURCH, 12th November. That he would not exempt from the provisions of the by-laws even a doctor who was hurrying in response to an urgent call was the definite statement made by Mr Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when he fined a man for speeding who had driven a doctor to Rangiora on a case and was taking him back to the city for a consultation. '.'lf a doctor is charged be: ne me with speeding even when .o a case of the utmost urgency.. I wo aid not take it into consideration/"' said the Magistrate. "Doctors or anybody else are not entitled to endanger the 'safety of the public—not even in attempting to save another's life. There were 178 deaths in the Dominion last year, largely caused through the recklessness of motu.- drivers, for if motorists had observed the regulations there would not have been one-third of them."
