MONTHLY MEETING At the monthly meeting of tho Nelson Land Board there were present: Mr A. E. Waters, Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman) and Messrs W. C. Mirfin, A. JR. Edwards and J. O'Regan. Leave of absence was granted to Mr G. Macmahon. Applications for land: Section 8, Block V, Waitapu Survey District, area 320 acres, capital value £9O. Applicant, A. L. Soper: Resolved to issue an occupation license at an annual rental of £5. — Sections 2 to 8 and 8 to 10, blocks VIII and XII, Arnaud S.D., ai*ea 504 acres, capital vaiue £3BO. Applicant, J. L. Borlase: Application for renewable lease declined.—XX/605. Mr E. G. Brooks made application for an occupation license over an area of 5000 acres of open country situated in the vicinity of Ben Nevis: Resolved to decline tho application.—.Section 5, Block 111, Reefton S.D. 319 acres, capital value £l6O. Half-yearly rent £3 4s. Applicant, John Frederick Samson: Approved. Lands to be opened: —Section 662, town of Westport, area 1 rood, formerly held on education reserve lease *by Robert Patterson: Resolved to offer at auction for leasing at an upset annual rental of £3.

Forfeitures: Section 6, Block 1, Matakitaki S.D., area 385 acres, A. H. Hanley: Resolved to declare the lease forfeited.—Section 3, Block VIII, Mokihinui S.D. area 544 acres, L. B. Mosley, deceased; Resolved to declare the lease forfeited.

Correspondence and miscellaneous: The acting Conservator of Forests requests the formal approval of the Nelson Land Board to the | proposed proclamation of a forest'fire district in Mawheraiti survey district and in Gordon, Tadmor andMotupiko survey district: Resolved to approve of the constitution of :> fire district in Gordon, Tadmor and Motupiko survey districts and to adjourn consideration of the application in Mawheraiti survey district. Twenty-five acres in block V. Otumahana survey district. Public Trustee (in estate of H. A. M. Jenkins, deed.) to Mrs Grace Jenkins: Resolved to cancel license as at 31/12/28 and issue a new one to Mrs Grace Jenkins at the same rental.—The Cbllingwood County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of thirds, etc., amounting to £3 18s 7d, and accrued to 30th September, 1928.
