NELSON LADIES’ CLUB

The playing season for the Nelson Ladies’ Golf Club was officially closed yesterday afternoon, when a nine-hole medal match was the fixture, afternoon tea was dispensed, and the presentation of trophies won during the season was made. There was a. good.attendance of members. , The medal match was won by Miss Hogg in the seniors and Miss D. Hayes in the juniors. Before the prizes were presented the club captain (Miss Gray) congratulated the prize-winners. Referring to the proposal to hold a combined prizegiving with the men’s club Miss Gray thought the idea was a good one and honed it would he brought into effect. Thanks were lex-pvessecl to the lion, secretary for the manner in which she had carried out her .many duties din - ing the season; to groundsman Gardiner; to the men’s committee and to the donors of trophies. Reference was also made to the club being represented ut various tournaments recently Held in the North Island. • . Tile prizes were then distiibnted as follow: Senior championship: Mms Aclieson; runner-up, Miss Gray. Junior championships Mrs N. Rout; runner-up, Miss Tomlinson.
