NEW CHIEF AT SYDNEY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received 27th October, 11.5 a.m.)‘ SYDNEY, This Day, Mr John Garlick has been appointed Chief Civic Commissioner of tne Sydney City Council, in succession to Mr Fleming, deceased. Mr 'Garlick was for many years head of the Local Government Department. Mr Norton will continue as second commissioner. Brigadier-General Gordon Bennett, importer, lias been appointed the third member. He had command of the second division of the Australian forces during the war.
