ANNUAL I'LUNKET BALL

Tho Tasman annual Plunket ball held in the Central Shed was a great success A large number of children assembled for the function in fancy' dress, and occupied the floor between the hours ol seven and nine. Mr Benzies presented each child with a coloured balloon, which made the evening much more enjoyable for tho children. At 9 o’clock the children left the floor and light refreshments and soft drinks were handed to them. Supper was also handed around to the parents and onlookers, a second supper being served at eleven to the dancers. Shortly after nine the floor was filled with enthusiastic dancers from all parts of the district. The floor was in perfect order, and tho hall was plainly but effectively decorated with streamers, etc. Mrs Darvell and Mr McFarlane officiated at the piano for tho children’s session, while the local dance orchestra supplied the dance music. Extras were played by Messrs C. Keynisli and J. Goodman. Airs McFarlane kindly lent her piano for the occasion. Air A. Austin acted as AI.C.

It is gratifying to tho club to know that after their strenuous work the turnout proved a financial success.
