JUSTICE OF THE PEACE FINED
MAGISTRATE'S SHARP COMMENT

AUCKLAND, This Day. W. L. Roland, who is a Justice of the Peace, was fined by Mr Hunt, S.M., £5 jnd costs on a prosecution concerning an alleged false document claiming a refund by a Dalmation of the benzine tax, the document being ante-dated 30th June instead of 14th August. The Magistrate said the explanation made by Roland was absurd and that he had no right to • Justice of th» Peace at all.
